Stuffing bell peppers with ground turkey and Lynora’s Marinara sauce turns this Italian-American dish into a tasty main for an unconventional Thanksgiving dinner or a hearty side dish to a large, traditional feast.
Ingredients:
1 jar of Lynora’s Marinara Sauce
6 bell peppers of assorted colors
1 ½ lb. ground turkey or beef
1 c. cooked long grain white rice
8 ounces of white sharp cheddar or mozzarella, cut into small cubes
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash and remove tops of bell peppers. Dice tops and set aside. Remove core and seeds and place peppers upright in a baking dish. Cook ground turkey or beef in a non-stick skillet. Drain off the fat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Allow to cool for a few minutes. Combine meat, diced peppers, rice, ½ c. of Lynora’s Marinara Sauce and 1/2 of the cheese. Stuff peppers with the mixture. Top with remaining sauce and cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 35 minutes. Remove from oven and serve while still warm.
