4 Hearts are Better Than 1
In the lead up to Valentine’s Day we wanted to share 4 easy recipes for heart shaped pizzas to treat those you love. Using Lynora’s pizza dough (this can be purchase for $5 at Lynora’s Kitchen), these pizzas are perfect for topping any which way you choose. Here are 4 ideas to get you started:
Preparing the dough (each recipe uses ½ of a Lynora’s Pizza Dough)
Pizza dough can be purchase the day before. Refrigerate dough, removing it from the fridge 2 hours before using to allow to come to room temperature. When ready to make pizzas, preheat oven to 475 degrees.
Place the dough on reusable wax paper or pizza pan. Shape pizza dough into a heart. First gently flatten dough into a round shape. Slowly pull bottom center of the circle down into a point, then smush the top center down towards you, making the top of the heart. This dough is very forgiving, keep shaping until you have the heart shape you like.
Margherita Pizza
Ingredients
½ Lynora’s pizza dough
Lynora’s Marinara Sauce
Fresh Mozzarella, approximately 2 ounces, torn into smaller pieces
Fresh basil, sliced thin
Lynora’s Extra Virgin Olive oil
Directions
Prepare your heart pizza dough. Top pizza with Lynora’s Marinara sauce and fresh mozzarella. Bake on the lowest rack in the oven for 12 minutes. After it’s removed from the oven, top with fresh basil and drizzle Lynora’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Double Mushroom Pizza
Ingredients
½ Lynora’s pizza dough
½ small carton of your choice of mushrooms, cleaned and sliced, we used button
Lynora’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Lynora’s Cabernet Sauvignon
2 slices of fresh mozzarella (approximately 2 ounces), torn into smaller pieces
Lynora’s Black Truffle Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Fresh basil, sliced
Directions
Sautée sliced mushrooms in Lynora’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Season with salt and pepper. Add a couple of tablespoons of Lynora’s Cabernet Sauvignon, cooking until reduced. Set aside.
Prepare your heart pizza dough. Top pizza with sautéed mushrooms and fresh mozzarella. Bake on the lowest rack of the oven for 12 minutes. After done, drizzle pizza with Lynora’s Black Truffle Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil and fresh basil.
Spicy Pizza with Arugula and Parmesan
Ingredients
½ Lynora’s Pizza Dough
Lynora’s Marinara Sauce
Fresh arugula
Shaved parmesan, approximately 1 ounce
Lynora’s Chili Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Directions
Prepare your heart pizza dough. Top pizza with Lynora’s Marinara Sauce. Bake on the lowest rack of the oven for 12 minutes. After done, top with a handful of fresh arugula and top with parmesan and drizzle Lynora’s Chili Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Sweet as Honey Pepperoni Pizza
Ingredients
½ Lynora’s Pizza Dough
Lynora’s Marinara Sauce
Fresh mozzarella, sliced (approximately 2 ounces), torn into smaller pieces
Pepperoni slices
Fresh basil, sliced thin
Honey, gently warmed
Directions.
Prepare your heart pizza dough. Top pizza with Lynora’s Marinara Sauce, fresh mozzarella and pepperoni. Make sure pepperoni slices are touching or slightly overlapping. Bake for 12 minutes on the lowest rack of the oven. When done, top with fresh basil and drizzle the warmed honey over the entire pizza.
